Activity Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Activity Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in promoting social engagement, well-being, and emotional support for our clients. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing a variety of recreational activities that cater to the individual interests and needs of the people we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of social and recreational activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being.
  • Tailor activities to meet the preferences, abilities, and needs of each individual client.
  • Organize outings, events, and group activities to encourage community participation and reduce isolation.
  • Engage clients in activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, memory exercises, and hobbies, ensuring these are enjoyable and meaningful.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their interests and goals to create personalized activity plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, adjusting as necessary to maintain client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for clients during all activities.
  • Work closely with the care team to ensure that activities align with clients’ health and personal care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients’ participation, feedback, and progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages clients to participate and interact with one another.
  • Assist with transportation and escort clients to and from activities and events as needed.
  • Ensure all activity supplies and materials are well-organized and available for each session.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., activity coordination, social work, or caregiving) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize activities that meet the individual needs and interests of clients.
  • A caring, compassionate, and patient attitude.
  • Creative, energetic, and able to think outside the box to create fun and engaging experiences.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive environment for clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driving license may be required for transportation purposes
