Blest Healthcare Carbon Reduction Progress Report – Year 2024

Blest Healthcare LTD is  fully committed to achieving  Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.  This initial Carbon Reduction Progress Report provides an update on the steps we’ve taken so far, highlights our progress, and outlines the key actions we’re working on to meet our sustainability goals. We are proud to report that we are on track to deliver a full carbon reduction report by June 2025, detailing all key emissions data and progress. As we continue developing and implementing our sustainability strategy, we remain dedicated to achieving these goals within the outlined timeline.

1. Emissions Reporting

We have initiated the process of tracking our emissions under Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 categories. Although we are still in the early stages of data collection, we are making significant progress.

Scope 1: Direct Emissions

We have begun tracking emissions from our owned vehicles and are on schedule to transition to electric vehicles by 2030. Current emissions data will be fully reported by June 2025.

Scope 2: Indirect Emissions from Purchased Electricity

We have initiated conversations with landlords to improve energy efficiency and explore renewable energy sources. By June 2025, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of our energy consumption and related emissions.

Scope 3: Other Indirect Emissions

We have started analyzing employee commuting and work-related travel, promoting  walking  and carpooling as initial measures. Full data on these efforts will be available in our June 2025 report.

Engaging with suppliers to reduce supply chain emissions is a priority. Initial engagements are underway, and we expect to provide a clearer picture of these efforts by June 2025.

2. Key Environmental Management Measures

As we build our environmental management framework, we have already implemented some key initiatives that will help us achieve our Net Zero goal.

2.1 Energy Efficiency Initiatives

Discussions with our landlord on energy-efficient upgrades have begun. By June 2025, we plan to have a clearer understanding of potential improvements and the impact of any upgrades already made.

Early energy-saving campaigns have been launched internally, with positive staff participation. More comprehensive results will be reflected in the next report.

2.2 Sustainable Transportation

Plans for transitioning to electric vehicles are well underway, with charging infrastructure assessments ongoing. We will provide further details and concrete steps in our full report by june 2025.

In addition to encouraging  public transport, biking, and carpooling, we have introduced incentives for staff who adopt sustainable commuting options. We will be able to quantify the impact of these measures by next year.

2.3 Waste Management

We are in the process of implementing recycling initiatives across our rented spaces, with early signs of reduced waste. Full reporting on waste reduction achievements will be available by June 2025.

Feasibility studies on composting programs are ongoing. We plan to introduce composting wherever possible and report on its success next year.

2.4 Staff Engagement and Training

We have rolled out initial training on sustainability practices, with plans to expand these sessions. We aim to provide a complete overview of staff participation and impact in the next report.

Internal Green Teams have been established to lead early sustainability efforts. We expect to share their progress in greater detail by June 2025.

3. Monitoring and Reporting

As we are still building our reporting infrastructure, we are on track to release a full annual sustainability report by June 2025 which will include complete emissions data and specific carbon reduction achievements.

We are constantly reviewing and refining our strategies to ensure we meet our Net Zero goal. Ongoing assessments will help us make the necessary adjustments to stay on track.

4. Challenges and Next Steps.

Challenges

As a new company, we are in the process of establishing systems for collecting comprehensive emissions data. While this is a challenge, we are confident that our full reporting capabilities will be ready by June 2025.

Encouraging suppliers and landlords to adopt sustainable practices is an ongoing process. We anticipate seeing the results of these efforts in the coming year.

Next Steps for 2025

We will Start the procurement of electric vehicles and finalize charging infrastructure plans.

Expand our outreach and collaboration with suppliers to achieve measurable reductions in Scope 3 emissions.
